Founded in 2009, The Machine is a collective of artists/creators who develop original performance pieces in Charlotte, NC. Our work is multidimensional and romantic, musical and strange. We use play as a means to encounter the mystery of our world and then discern meaning in that encounter.  We invite our audiences to join us on that journey, from our very early explorations and through various drafts until we've finally set a performance in stone.

Currently The Machinists are experimenting with choose your own adventure soap opera performance parties, extremely short pieces of theatre, and are in the early stages of creating a full length play about the afterlife to premiere in the spring of 2014.  It may or may not involve dancing mummies.
